Most people will know whether Arty-Folks is their ‘thing’ within 3-4 weeks. If it isn’t, we can help you to find a community activity that suits you. If you discover that art helps you to express yourself and you want to use it improve your mental health you may be able to progress to the next group. Arty-Folks runs now three groups: Gateway, Progression, and Making Way. The groups are structured into progressive stepping stones aimed at challenging negative self-beliefs. But there is no short cut – one step at a time!
Arty-Folks has an impressive track record supporting people into education, volunteering and employment. We are proud of our members who have achieved art qualifications including GCSEs, A-levels, Foundation, and BA Honours Degrees.
Having mental ill health can be a very lonely and isolating experience. Arty-Folks wants to serve as a facilitator and catalyst of change and connecting with people and events around us is an important part of maintaining strength and wellbeing. Coventry is full of opportunities to get involved with social, creative and cultural events and through doing so make connections with other people. We provide information and support about services, therapies, recreation, culture, sports, etc. and we will help you to get plugged into other opportunities to increase your health and wellbeing.
