Welcome to Arty-Folks

Arty-Folks is more than an art group: we are a community of like-minded people with a passion for the visual arts.  We offer Art as Therapy to help people who feel at a low point in life and who are struggling with mental ill health to on their recovery journey to achieve mental well-being.

Join our Gateway group any Wednesday at 12.30 to the Artspace Studios, 16 Lower Holyhead Road which is off Spon Street in Coventry City Centre.  We do not need formal referrals and you don’t need to book a place.  We will discuss with you your needs and expectations to make sure that we are the right service for you.

At our workshops you will meet new people, relax, and have fun while exploring a wide range of arts and crafts like drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, ceramics, mosaics, textile, etc. Through your artwork you will learn to build on your personal strengths and natural abilities and with the support of your Peers to become well, stay well, and make the most of life.

Our service is aimed at adults of working age 18-65 with a current psychological mental illness and is not suitable for people in a crisis, with dementia, SEN, autism, or people with  a current alcohol or drug dependence.

More about what we do at Arty-Folks

“Arty-Folks is something I came across by chance one day seeing one of their leaflets in the library. I wasn’t sure about it at first but I can honestly say it’s been the best thing ever; I love the conversation we have, such lovely people. It’s provided me with an outlet and a way to step back from life and all its difficulties allowing me to get some clarity and to put things into perspective.”
